TALLMADGE -- Andrew R. Powers, age 79, died on Sunday September 2, 2007 at his home.

Mr. Powers was born September 8, 1927 in Pittsburgh, Pa. to the late Michael and Anna Lauban Powers. He was a graduate of North High School and Youngstown State University. Mr. Powers worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and before that Chrysler Company, he worked as an Order Analyst and Expediter. He served in the Air Force during World War II. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church in Tallmadge. He enjoyed golf, boating and especially enjoyed his Cleveland teams, the Indians and Browns.

His wife, Helen (Elosh) Powers whom he married on July 15, 1950; his son, Allan Powers of Tallmadge; a brother, Michael Powers of Austintown; two sisters, Betty Powers and Marlayna Martin both of Canfield; survive him.

Visiting hours were held on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Kirila Funeral Home, Inc., 258 Poland Avenue in Struthers. Services will be Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home and 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Church in Campbell. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery.
