Catherine
Tallon
After a long, selfless life, our mother, Catherine Tallon passed away peacefully on December 7, 2008. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother to us. She was born in Akron, Ohio, on January 15, 1916 as Catherine D'Ianni. Having been one of five children, she attended Akron public schools and graduated from North High School. Her faith was deeply embedded in her spirit and she was a member of St. Martha's parish as well as St. Bernards, later in life. Faith and family were the two reigning truths to our mother. Our father, who preceded her in death, and she were married for 54 years and she missed "Jimmy" until the end of her life. Sadly, she witnessed two of her oldest children die prematurely. Thomas Tallon (Constance) and Judy Hackman (William) were also loved adoringly. Catherine leaves two daughters, Kathleen Clark (Robert) and Patricia Hanson (Fred) who were able to be by her side. Grandchildren, Annie, James, Diane, David, Robert, Barbara and Sandra will sorely miss her as will her sisters, Filamena Irvin and Helen D'Ianni. Previously deceased include brother, Dr. James D'Ianni and sister, Josephine Brubaker. Cremation has taken place. A Mass of Christian Burial
will be said on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent's Catholic Church (164
W. Market St.). For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to St.
Vincent's Church. |
