Philip Kent Wiggins

Philip Kent Wiggins, 64, of Rhea County, Tenn., passed away suddenly, August 4, 2008.

Phil was born in Coshocton, Ohio. He spent his youth on North Hill in Akron, served six years in the U.S. Army and was employed as an auto mechanic in Akron. In 1974, he was appointed a Cuyahoga Falls firefighter and retired as a Lieutenant in 1998. He then followed his dream to a Lake house in Tennessee. Phil had a wonderful sense of humor and a loving and caring heart. He was always available to help where and when needed. He was a loving husband, father, and best friend. Phil loved to boat, fish, travel, tinker and tweak. He felt great pride in his children and his service with the Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Phil is survived by wife of 36 years, Polly (Brown); his sons, Michael and wife, Erica of Ashville, Ohio and Geoffrey and special friend, Clare of Columbus, Ohio; brothers, Marty (Diane) Wiggins of Green and Mark (Terry) Wiggins of Cuyahoga Falls. As well as many other very important, loving, and supportive family members.

A memorial services will be held at the Sharon Event and Party Center, 6600 Ridge Road (S.R.94), Wadsworth on Sunday, August 17th at 5:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Phil's name to Aluminum Cans for Burned Children at Akron Children's Hospital, One Perkins Square, Akron, Ohio 44308-1062.
